At the pistol range today. Weather nice, in the low 50's. I wanted to give those new targets a workout.
Those new ez2ctargets, Style 12, 25 Yard Show Fire Pistol targets that mimics the NRA B16 works like a charm. I get a much better view of the front even with my S&W Model 34, J Frame, 22 rimfire revolver that has a narrower front sight than the K, L, and N frame revolvers. I figured using the Model 34 would be the 'acid" test for these targets given the narrow front sight.
The best part for me is that I can use a center hold and still get a very clear contrast of the front sight against that orange bull with a white 10 ring. Even better, it was overcast, and I still could see the front sight clearly.

I shot a 91 slow fire, two 10 shot string average with the very old Model 34 with a 4" barrel. I then shot a 2 ten shot string with my very old Model 19, 4" barrel, 357 Magnum and averaged 93. Not surprising that I shot better with the Model 19, the front sight is thicker than the Model 34. Haven't shot that well in a while. I should qualify that these were shot with a 2-hand hold, not the 1 hand hold required in NRA precision pistol competition.
Expecting better things when I take my K and L frame 6" revolvers out for a test drive on these new targets.

Shooting in the 90's is my ideal of fun.

I feel like I'm 25 years old again - well maybe that's an exaggeration - let's say 65.

Matt Dillion and Dirty Harry lives on.
