At what point do you start seating bullets into the lands?
Do you jump a 6,7,and 8 tangent ogive and then stuff a 9 and 10?
Most just say seat all VLDs into the lands.
This is a general question but I am working with gas guns and I know I shouldn't seat into the lands with a gas gun. Does this rule out all Scenars? Do all Sierras shoot better with a jump?
This is not critical with a bolt because you just seat a little longer or shorter.
I can't really experiment and change my OL. I need to make sure I have the correct reamer or design one for a specific bullet at a specific OL. For the .308 it would be 2.75-2.80 and 2.28-2.3 in the AR15 platform.
Maybe some of you can just tell me if 155 sierras shoot better with some jump and the 155 scenars shoot better when stuffed.
