Been thinking about this for awhile. Still trying to understand. Lets just say I had an AR rifle that I wanted to shoot using the magazine and for some reason it did not want to shoot jumping to the lands. If you go to a lower ogive would that not allow you to get closer to the lands. Another words would the bearing surface be more towards the front of the bullet? This is all hypothetical of course. Just trying to understand "Ogive". The lower the Ogive # the more rounded the bullet is correct and vise versa the higher the more pointed? I think of a 30-30 round nose bullet would be a really low ogive?
