Ogive from 87 Vmax to Meyer 68 gr

My usual ammo: ( 6 BR) for prairie dogs is 87 gr Vmax in 1:8 twist Shilen 26" / 31.8 gr Varget..
I am wanting to try some 68 gr Meyer bullets I bought off this site..
Can I seat these 68 grain bullets at the same ogive measurement as the 87 gr Vmax?
Edit: I have Hornady: Lock-N- Load Bullet comparator / Mitutoyo caliper.

I can't give you a specific answer but you should measure them yourself, regardless. You need that ifo of your own for load workup. This is a very general question too. Do you have a more specific reason or something? I mean..every lot of bullets can be different. I don't think a very specific answer can be given for every bbl. More info would be helpful. If you have both bullets, you should be able to answer your own question and nobody can tell you what's gonna shoot best in your barrel without strictly guessing. Lots of good help on here but not many have a crystal ball. What chambering, too?
Are you lacking a tool to measure right with?

Yes, with seating die adjustment.
But changing bullets can be even less fun than changing case brand.

You should back off load, do coarse seating testing (like Berger recommended), powder develop for the lighter bullet, then tweak seating in it's window for tightest grouping.
Basically, starting over

Simple answer....Yes you can. It might work, it might not. Might be as simple as tweaking seating depth or it might require starting over. I have had it both ways. Might just depend on your end goal. Shoot varmints or shoot in matches.

The bullets are for prairie dogs.. Looks like it a "start over" for these bullets.. I'll load up a few and test how they chamber and group... probably start mid range on powder (31.5 gr) and go from there...
