Offset scope rings?

Thinking about picking up a set Harrells offset scope rings for my 40x .22lr benchrest rifle to make it more comfortable to shoot.

My question is how does the offset effect the elevation and windage adjustments?

If i make a 2 or 3 click elevation adjustment is it going to change my windage?

If the scope is perfectly level in the rings to your hold each time you fire then no a wind age change will not effect elevation IME
I use a Benchrest stock with a 3" flat bottom in a front rest so I feel fairly confident the rifle isn't canted or more or less from one round to another.

I wouldn't reccomend off set rings unless the human error in the amount of cant from one shot to another is tightly controlled

What about going to a set of higher rings instead of offset?

The rifle is a 40x in the factory woods stock and a 3" plate on the front and using a Cowan front rest and Protektor rear bag.

IMO
You would be ok with offset Since you are using the 3" plate. Again just my opinion. I've been using offset rings without any issues at 100-200 yards

This will be for 50yd rimfire.
