I did not use a counter weight on the 760 since the scope was a 2-7 Leupold with very little weight. The steel plate was for the offset rings and base and it mounted to a one piece base attached to the action. Using a steel plate allowed for setting the offset distance differently although I found the offset Hart uses of about 2 1/2 inches worked fine. That’s a problem I hope we don’t encounter but that big 50mm scope is bound to make it a little wonky to hold level. How did you mount the steel counterweight on the 760? I don’t want it to have a bunch of gadgetry hanging off it but it does need to balance reasonably well.
