I bought a japenese 7.7 awhile back and a baggie with a few items were in it brought back during WWII and it has a small handbook in japenese that someday want to get translated to see who owned it.It appears to be a soldiers hand manual according to what the previous owner wrote on a small piece of paper.Sooooo here goes,does anyone on here speak fluent japanese as I could make copies and fax the stuff to you to translate for me.

I think the problem is that it's probably written in Kanji, which will be almost impossible for the OP to transcribe into Google Translate. Also, my experience with translating modern Japanese websites with Google Translate has been someone less that satisfactory. There are many idioms that Google translates literally (e.g. "in the child way" rather than "simple") which makes the output somewhat difficult to understand.

Jon, my cousin is married to a Japanese woman. I can contact her for you and see if she will translate it for you. She is exceptionally smart so I think her translation skills would be pretty good. My cousin also speaks good Japanese as he taught English in Japan for 3 years (that's how he met his wife). They live in the Boise ID area. I have a co-worker who is fluent in Japanese, her parents still live there most of the year (and might be able to help you make connections), and she's an enthusiastic albeit novice shooter. I'd be happy to ask her to look at this and translate it for you. And her husband is Japanese, and they're both extremely bright, so there's no shortage of language expertise.
