Oddball 6mm?

Fellow brought over a nice Obendorf with a beautiful piece of wood, chambered in '6mm Scott'. I cast the chamber, looks to be a .308 based wild cat about as long as a .243 with the double radius Weatherby shoulders and a longish neck. Any one heard of this animal?

I can't say that I've ever heard of the 6mm Scott. But there are probably 10,000 different wildcats out there, with more added each day, so I doubt if anyone has a handle on all of them.

There are several really good shooters with the name "Scott" and maybe it's named after one of them. Maybe your Mr. Scott will read this and chime in.;)

I could probably help you narrow it down a little but I would need a LOT more information than the name and caliber.

I'd check with the reamer makers. One of them made the reamer that cut the chamber. Kiff, Manson, Henriksen and JGS come to mind.
