OCW initial testing. Worth doing?

I would like opinions about OCW testing. Is it worth doing or a waste of time?

Background.
I got a new barrel for my 6BR in heavy gun a while ago and just loaded up various loads and shot them at 100 yards. I picked the most promising two groups and re tested them with various jumps. Settled on 30.6gr of N150 with the Berger 105gr hybrid with 15 thou jump.

At 600yds it gives 1/3 moa elevation and 2.5 inch groups. It seems pretty good but I was wondering if I would be just reinventing the wheel by starting over again in doing an initial OCW test or could it show me something that could give me a more accurate load.

Any comments appreciated.

Good shooting to All.

To get more, personally suggest to continue with tuning at 600yds instead. Sort to speak, to not leave anything on the plate, "tuning at intended distance" will tell the truth and prevail the most from a load/tune - IME

Thanks Donovan, I think that we are on the same wavelength.
