October ‘25 ASC Varmint for Score Match Results & Shooter-of-the-Year

Ten shooters turned out for Arlington Sportsman’s Club final 100-yard VFS match of the ’25 season’ and Shooter of the Year award.

Weather threatened with heavy fog obscuring the targets at scheduled start time. The morning sun worked its magic, and we were shooting after a short one-hour delay.

Light winds made for competitive scoring with Bill Hounshell taking top honors at 250-21X, followed by Jerry Turner’s 250-18X and Ron Atkins 250-017 Creedmoor tiebreaker over Charles Moore and Vicki King.

Richard King was the only HTR class entrant shooting a 249-10X.

Shooter of the Year​

Jerry Turner earned his first Shooter of the Year with an outstanding best 6-match total of 1500-120X followed by Jim Nicolas 1500-115X and Charles Moore at 1500-112X.

Shout-out to Bill Hounshell’s match win and fourth place Shooter of the Year finish in his rookie season and ASC.
