Oceania 300m ISSF Pictures

Great pictures, Aubrey! Thanks for posting them, it's always good to see some 300M shooting on a "real" range. We're still shooting it in the great outdoors here as well, not even the tent!

Great Pictures Aubrey!!

Might I ask a few Questions about your Gear and matches.

Was this Match all prone 300 Meter? What is the most common Calibre? Did you use paper targets and pulling style targets or did you use a Electronic target sensor like the Suis Ascor system.

Also I noticed there might be a error of Mr Mason's score in Match number 5. The numbers must be inverted since he is showing a 89 vs a 98. But the overall score is correct.

I see that you shoot 6 strings of ten, or that is what it looks to me. Do you give a block time for all 60 shots or do you split it up into two or three strings of 20 or 30. Unlimited sighters? Are they just in the beggining or can you go back to sigheters after record fire has commenced.

Sorry about all the Questions, but I will be hosting my Very first 300 Meter, reduced to 300 yards C-3 target) Prone match on the 17th of Jan. I will be following US NRA International rules and have not compared the ISSF rules to them.

If the weather cooperates we will get to shoot this match. right now is does not look good as the projected High is looking at around the 32* F mark wich is right at 0* C for you.
That is just to dern cold to shoot that many shots.

Very nice looking range, I see Mr Maxberry made it over to shoot.

Hey where are all the young shooters at?? The future.

G'day Russ

The match was 300m prone, 60 rounds to count, with unlimited sighters in 90 minutes total time for all shots. Extra time given because of manual targets.

Sighters are fired first, and then the shooter calls for each target face to be replaced after 10 rounds. There are no further sighters.

Rifles were mainly in 6BR, with one in 308. There was some talk of 6-6.6x47L, but I did not see one.

Mitch lives in New Zealand and he won the NZ match on the previous day.

Regards
Aubrey
