OAL, COL) for 6x45 and Hod h4895

I am reloading for my 6x45, 6mm-.223) and I have the reloading data from hodgdon for the H4895

the data is as follows
85 GR. SPR SP Hodgdon H4895 COL of 2.350

What I want to do is be able to load this round in my magazines but with a COL of 2.350 I cant do that.

My question is, if i take the COL, OAL) down to 2.255 so it will fit in a standard magazine, instead of the recommended 2.350 from Hodgdon), do I have to drop the grains of powder any?

any input is apprecaited

Chris

my 6TCU is built on a remington short action that was a 223. i believe my magazine box measures 2.50. have you checked yours to be sure? h335 has proven to be the powder of choice so far.

Chuck,
hank you for the reply.

I think 2.60 is the max that will fit in a magazine. 2.50 is perfect. I went in between so I could be some what closer to hodgdon col they recommend.

I dont have any h335 local to buy. I really wanted to use that powder but I dont want to pay hasmat fees so I went with the h4895

Do you think I need to drop the amount of powder since I am seating the bullet deeper? I am worried about the increased pressure?

thanks again for you reply

Unless you're already shooting a hot load and seeing some pressure signs you should be fine seating the bullet a little deeper.

I forgot to mention that your numbers are off if 2.5 is perfect you shouldn't have to seat the bullet any deeper you were already under that; unless I misread something.
