Oak Ridge 2014 Schedule Questions

In getting prepared for the 2014 shooting season, I am reviewing the schedules at my local shooting ranges. In reviewing the schedule for Oak Ridge in TN, I had a few questions of any members that might be on this site to see if clarification could be obtained. In the 2013 schedule (http://www.orsahp.com/2013-match-schedule), the dates and formats were delineated nicely for us. Also, Palma matches were usually the Sunday after a Saturday LR shoot. In the 2014 schedule (http://www.orsahp.com/2014-match-schedule), it only alludes to LR and 600 yard matches with one Fullbore Match in September. So, I have a few questions.

For the LR weekends can we assume that both days are at 1000 yards? If so, what format (3x20 Sat/2x20 Sun)?

Are there no Palma matches this year?

I know this is a preliminary schedule, so updates are likely to come, just wondering out loud and trying to nail down any shoots that may fit my schedule.

Thanks in advance.

I'm going out on a limb here but I'm pretty sure that there was nobody to run the Fullbore matches so they went away. The guy who ran them is not shooting at ORSA any more.

We'll have to see what Larry says about the Sunday Palma matches. It should be much clearer once the programs get up on the website, and I'm sure we'll eventually have programs posted just like last yr.

I think it's cool that we have six 600 yard matches this yr. I need to get out and try to get some people out to play. Those are a great way to get new shooters in the game. (and the regional is not on Mothers Day weekend ;D)

Wade, are you going to help Larry and Phil run matches this coming year? I am sure they would really appreciate your support, especially with Phil's busy travel schedule.

I haven't spoken with anyone since the last 600 yard match a couple of weeks after the F class championships in Tullahoma months ago. Until about 2 weeks go I wasn't even sure I would be living here after this month. (see my thread regarding ranges in the northeast. Phil isn't the only one with travel issues I think I have at least one platinum travel card from this yr, and I was platinium with Marriott last yr) In fact I think the only shooting I've done since that 600 yard match is two days with hunting rifles.

I do have some ideas to help out, I just have to hook up with them to talk about it.

BTW, Who is running the F class state championship this yr, I assume the club found someone? Has the date been announced?

All the info for AEDC matches is here: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3831186. John Venters is coordinating the F-Class State Match this year. I am sure he will be delighted to hear your ideas.

I'm confident that I have no ideas to provide to another club as to how to run their match.

As to the silly TNSSA membership requirement so that a bunch of guys from the Nashville area can run spend the membership fees from the entire state locally, well, that I may still have a gripe or two left in me for that.

Before you get started again, I talked to the TNSSA President about this. TNSSA membership is no longer required for state residents to shoot in state matches this year. I need to post the updated MSM application on the other thread. I am not involved in the TNSSA, but this change was communicated to me earlier this month.

I'm glad you asked the question. I had just sent him an E-mail this AM asking the same question.
