I am just getting into bullet making. I do have a couple converted RC presses and two Pindell SR dies. I want to get mainly into making a LR 6mm bullet for my main focus. With that said, I would like 2 presses dedicated for that purpose. So with the couple mfg's making them, the availability is extremely limited and pricy for what they are. So I set out to make my own o-frame style. I had two slabs of 7075 at 2" thick laying around. The pics show the progress so far on them. I have a bit more to do. I am looking for any critiques or suggestions. The pic shows a carbon steel linkage....I made that just to see how the leverage motion will look like, along with a couple different pivot points to try. This is where a computer model would work well, but not skilled in that, haha The actual unit will have SS linkage bars in their place. I do not have the ram machined for the punches yet. I am not sure what I will need dimension wise. I do have a converted Nemi, and it's threaded for 1/2-20 nut to retain a punch, not sure if that will be fine to follow? As for cam over stop, I plan on threading the frame to accept a shoulder bolt and round spacer to fine tune stop location by changing the diameter of the spacer. The back of press, i plan on notching to bolt an angle bracket for mounting purposes. It will only accept 7/8-14 dies right now. Didn't have any other means of setting up for threaded insert.
