NY loosing 2000 jobs > Alabama

I hope it gives our govenator heartburn knowing he is killing our economy. He is now raising our land taxes in the double digits to help out his mean machine.Good for remington and it sucks but it is necessary to send a message downstate. He does nothing for upstate new york only albany and new joke city.LOL

Sorry to tell you this but Cuomo looks at it this way, the more people he has on public assistance the more votes he will get, he does not care how many people lose their jobs or leave the state, he would be happy to have the whole population on gubberment assistance, i.e. he wants to be the sugar daddy, no matter how little sugar is left. I think the whole government is structured and acts with this as their motivator, not just your commie state.

My God,do you think that the general population of new york wants this? You realize like 48 countys are refusing to enfore the safe act.The cops around where I live think it is garbage and will solve nothing.Keep in mind that most of the supporting votes came from downstate by far and upstate would like to cecede from new york city which is 400 miles from where I live. We hate the current administrations edicts. The governator said in a state of the state message that he was holding any future land tax increases for a 3 year moratorium and a month or so later land tax is going up quite a bit for everyone except his phoney empire zones which are all located where any business would have to be crazy to start or move a business too in the first place. Please dont confuse all new yorkers with the big apple which in my mind is a nanny state as it sits.

Where in Alabama? I am a machinest with out a job, come on down to the Fl - Al gulf coast. We are friendly folks! And no state income tax in Fl.!

Well somebody keeps voting these despots in. I am in Fla and get to listen to all the "Move to NY " commercials your state is running down here. They promise low taxes (we have no state income tax here in Fla), they promise great labor force" I worked in NY for 8 years and grew up in Jersey, yeah the workers are slightly more educated up there but not as productive, the labor laws are more cumbersome than a UAW contract, no business in their right mind would move there. I see zero reason why anyone would move/visit that state. The only way I would visit is if 1776 happened all over again. I feel for you guys but you all bought this on yourselves, I would even go as far as to ask Jersey, NY and Mass people to stop moving here, you will end up making Florida just like the craphole you are all leaving. Nothing personal here, I tell my family up in Jersey the same thing.

Upstate is a beautiful place but I will never see it again, ever.

I hate to see Remington go, but I would not stay if I was them..I would only hope gun manufacturers and the like will not sell to the government agency's also..That way Our Governor could get a taste of it.

i read that its moving to huntsville,al. in north alabama if it was closer to me (montgomery) i'd concider a career move. alabama is a pro 2nd amendment state best move i did was moving here back in 1990

NC and SC are getting their share of the firearm industry. We still have a large number of residents that would change that if the vote went their way. Tenn workers showed big labor union where to go this week.

Just for the record, upstate is more conservative than you think. If you dont think elections arent rigged how did dead people vote in florida in the last presidential election.

God bless Alabama!

Our family recently left Colorado because of their propensity to run roughshod over the Constitution, both RKBA and other issues.

Once a state abandons firm reliance on the Constitution and adopts a nanny mentality, the best move is to leave. It's not just firearms in NY or CO. It's education, individual liberty, and all manner of intrusions into homes and businesses.

I hate to see where there already suffering quality is going to end up with a whole new facility and work force ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Out here in Western Washington we get TV adds promoting NY State being a great place for business. Doubt many will move. Seems like Texas and the SE USA is where most are relocating to.

Here in Northern NY we see the same ads, "10 years No Taxes", yet as Jon stated our Property & School tax go up 2% a year.....for the last 6 years in a row!

I say good for Remington! I live in the mitten state and I hate that every election this state always ends up supporting the left!!! I wish the armpit that is Detroit would fall off of this state! With so much of the states population there and the majority leaning left it's almost like a conservative doesn't have a chance!

I left New York when I was 21 years old ( in 1976) and have been happily living in Houston since. I love to go visit New York. All my family is there, lots of friends and good people there. I enjoy it for about a week after that the crowds and tolls starts getting to me. Love the theater, museums, etc... . Remington moving to Alabama maybe one of the few good things coming out of NY.

I feel the unions have become way too powerful there. They are slowly but surely killing the goose that lays the golden eggs (free enterprise). Wall street has co-opted Washington to further defraud all taxpayers and investors. So, on the whole, the NY-DC corridor has a lot of image problems. I like the people there but I don't like many of the things that are coming out of there

Half of the people in Houston are from up north or the west coast and the common theme among us transplants is "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quickly as I could." And when you asked them if they don't miss some of the people or places what they invariably says is "Yes, but life is so much better and easier here, that now that I know, I could never go back there."

I feel bad for the workers at Remington that will loose their jobs because they can't or don't want to relocate. Other than that, the hell with any state that suffers because it doesn't support the constitution of the nation it's in. Remington may struggle for a short period of time while in transition but they will be better off in the long run.

If you wonder why these deadbeats get in office, I think it's because they promise handouts. The majority of people needing handouts are in the inner cities. They have to be near bus routes so they can use their free gov't provided bus pass to get to the store and use their free qov't provided card to buy groceries.

I think it should be law that you can't vote unless you have a job..... although unions backed Obama and a lot of union workers would vote straight Democrat even if my dog was on the ballot :-[ ???I still think that if it were a law we would get our country back in the first election because the free loaders wouldn't be able to vote for the deadbeat that promises them the world.
