Believe it or not, I started to think that my NXS's Windage was not tracking very well due to some wierd POI stuff at 1000 yards. So I went out today and did a box test with these conditions:
35 degrees, sunny with a slight left to right breeze. 7WSM shooting H-1000 and 168 VLD's, wearing a NightForce NXS 5.5 -22X50.
Shot at 100 yards off of my shooting mat. I shot with my scope set at 24X. I wished I would have thought about that and shot it at 12X (don't know if it would have made any difference).
I shot at the orange target in the left corner. You can see where I shot 1 time to start to make sure my zero was close. I only had 10 rounds (and spent 1 round fouling a spanking clean barrel) so I didn't spend time getting a perfect zero.
I then adjusted UP 20 MOA (2 full rotations) and shot 2 shots that were in the same hole. I then went RIGHT 20 MOA and shot 2 rounds.
I then adjusted DOWN 20 MOA and shot 2 rounds. I then finished by adjusting LEFT 20 MOA and shot 2 rounds (basically same hole).
I also measured each POI with a tape measure to see what the actual distance was.......Pretty darn consistent. Now I have to think of something else to blame, besides ME... ;D
