NV UT WY shooting?

I'll be travelling in the Salt Lake City area this coming weekend through Tuesday. Meeting family to ski, etc, but will potentially have some free time Mon/Tues that I could check out some Fclass/BR/LR ranges. Any suggestions? Will not be able to bring a rifle this time, and really don't need to shoot, just like seeing whats out there when I travel and meeting new people (and plot my return).

Willing to drive a ways, as this is my MO. For instance, on my last trip to SLC that had some free time, I felt I should "test out" the brand new Mitsubishi 3000GT that the rental place gave me in place of my economy car that they mistakenly rented to someone else. That warranted a trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats......

The Thursday-Sunday thing is new to me... Our range near Vernal has no hours and has many steel targets out to a mile but the snow has been deep this winter...

Drew,
All of our f class ranges are closed at this time. The longrange is in wendover utah where we do shoot on the Bonneville salt flats. That range is under some water and very muddy. The midrange is perched on the bench lake Bonneville created above centerville utah. A proper 4wd would make through the snow I suppose. We are hoping for an April start to the season. We have a lot of snow to melt before then.

Bench rest range in slc is lee kay center. They hold some kind of a match there once and a while. 300 yard max. It's a public range owned by the state of utah.

Thanks for the info. Tired from full day of skiing....Drew

Don't plan on shooting in Wyoming. We have a ton of snow here.. A few fools will venture out only to issue a call for help when they get stuck..

While in Slat Lake drop by Gallensons. Best gun and shooting store in Salt lake IMO.. It's on 200 South just east of State street. If you must shoot there is a range in town that I believe will rent you a weapon and sell you ammo. I think it's called Get Some Guns Range and Ammo. There are other places. Google it..Cabelas is south and is a nice big store. And there is a Sportsman's Warehouse.

Thanks everyone for the input. While it seems my quest for a long range look-see will not pan out. I'll see what else is out there based upon the above advice. Thanks. Drew
