NSSF and Reed Expositions part ways

Got an e-mail from NSSF day before yesterday. Stating NSSF and Reed Expositions were ending a 30+ year contract to run the Shot Show. Seems Reed's management does not like certain types of firearms. Reed who also puts on the Harrisburg retail show changed it's policy after the show was scheduled to not allow "black guns". This caused a number of major vendors to pull out as well as the NRA. The Harrisburg show of course was cancelled at the last minute.

I don't know the size or corporate structure of Reed Expositions but these two shows are major events.(Big money) NSSF said they are looking for a new Shot Show management company and the 2014 Shot Show would go on in Las Vegas next January.

More people and companies need to seek out "gun friendly" vendors, and suppliers. Money talks.

Given Reed Expositions' view of shooters and shooting equipment, it's great to see the NSSF splitting with them. I'm sure NSSF will do just fine in the hands of another promotor, hopefully a US based one more shooter friendly this time.
