NRA Trigger Weights

This weekend I was at a garage sale, noticed two 1lb weights, 2” in diameter with a hole in the center and stamped with the letters NRA. I recognized them as some of weights used to weight triggers for EIC matches, 1911 pistols in particular. The man who was having the sale didn’t know what they were used for, tried to explain.
I then notices other weight also stamped NRA looked similar but they were 3.5”-4” in diameter, weighed considerably more and had threaded holes in the center so these could be screwed together.

Assume they were used for weighing something, have never seen or heard of anything similar. Hoping someone knows what they were used for.

was the second weight marked in kilo's by any chance?

The ones with threaded holes were base weights.
