NRA High Power Rifle Competition Description

I am looking for a write up that describes NRA High Power Rifle Competition. I have seen this type of write up from time to time but do not have a good one in my files. I prefer using something that already exists rather than writing my own. If you have something or have a link to something like this please let me know. I have looked at what the NRA has on its web site and it is not bad but I have seen better. I am also looking for something that describes the popularity of this shooting discipline in terms of numbers of competitors/events each year nation wide. I have been told that this is or was the largest of our shooting sports but I do not have any references to know if this is factual. Thanks for your help, Clyde.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but a MN shooter that I know put this together a while back:

http://members.goldengate.net/~mhavlik/highpower/page1.htm

It's a pretty decent 2-page summary of what the sport consists of.

Good luck,
Erik

Erud, Thanks so much. This is very helpful especially the pictures. I will see what other positive response I get and may wind up taking all inputs plus the NRA write up and developing my own write up. Conventional High Power competition is very healthy in Tennessee and I have been helping with some beginner development activities that are bringing a lot of new folks into the sport including a lot of juniors. It would be helpful when we recruit new competitors into the sport to have a short write up that describes the sport so folks will understand what it is all about. Thanks again for your thoughtful response. Clyde.

post your query on a forum dedicated to x-course shooting: http://www.usrifleteams.com/forums/index.php?act=idx

Thanks, that is a great idea. However, when I tried to log on to that forum I am told that my email address is already in use. So I checked the "forgot password" box and they said they would send me instructions to get logged on but they never did. I tried this more than once. I am not sure how to proceed with gaining access to that forum.

Do you have another email address that you can use to logon? I am surprised that you did not get a reply; do you have a spam/junk mail filter turned on?

Good idea but I only have the one email address. I do not remember ever trying to log on to that website before but it is possible that I did and do not remember. This seems very strange because I had a similar issue when I first tried to log onto Accurate Shooter a few months ago. Also, I am not aware of a spam filter on my email, I am using my Microsoft Outlook as it was set up by a friend and I will ask him if that was an option when he set it up. My internet provider is AT&T and it is possible that they have some kind of filter. Anyway, thanks for your help.
