Noticeable switch when going from LRP to SRP in Creedmoor.

Been using Hornady brass in my 6.5 and it shoots good. Took it out to a thousand a couple times now. Was in my local Cabelas and noticed they had some blue box Lapua in SRP.
Picked up box to see how it compares. Im running H4350 and FED GM primer but, will probably switch to the cci 450s once I load up the Lapua.
My 6BR I run 450s and have great success with them.
Anyone else notice any perceived or identifiable benefits when going SRP in 6.5CM?

I hate the Hornady 6.5 CM brass,it just doesn't last long before the primer pockets expand. I do like the Nosler brass,it has held up very well so far in my Savage actioned 6.5 CM.
I'm using the Lapua SP brass in my new CM build, and so far,I love it. I'm loading 42.4 gr of H4350 and 42.1 gr of RL 17 in them, and the brass likes it.

I bought some of the Peterson 6.5 CM Palma brass, but it is about 8 gr heavier than the Lapua. I will have to adjust my powder charges with them. It is really nice brass, and should hold up as well,if not better than the Lapua. It cost a lot less!

I cannot say anything in regards to brass life but as far as running normal loads there is no difference in velocity, pressure or accuracy.

Target shooters go to SRP brass because it lasts longer at max pressure than LRP brass. LRP and SRP do not have the same volume, so you load will be different for the same velocity.

Thanks for TxHB, Frank and XTR for weighing in.
TXHillbilly, Have or did you have your FP hole bushed or did you not experience any cratering going to the SRP?
I agree about one thing I have had the primer pockets loosen up way too soon on the Hornady and Win brass. Lapua just lasts longer under the same conditions I have found.
Thanks :)

I haven't had any problems with the firing pin and the small primer brass so far. You will need to check your decapping pin in your sizing die's,the flash holes are pretty small in the Lapua & Peterson small primer brass. I bought some new pins for my Redding dies, but I can't use my Hornady Match dies that I use on my older 6.5 CM. The small Hornady decapping pin is still too big!
