This is just a heads up to the membership. I will be out of the USA on holiday for about 12 days starting April 23rd. I will not be able to respond to PMs, Alerts, emails, or requests for changes.

If there are urgent matters, they can be directed to our systems manager Jay, whose forum name is "Jay Christopherson".

This holiday will involve some periods in the wilderness so I truly will NOT be available. FWIW this will be the first time in five years that I will be not be doing site-related work for more than 3 days. This will be the first time in TEN years that I will be taking more than a week straight off.

I work on the site at least 5 hours a day, 355+ days a year. That's a minimum. On a typical day I spend 10-12 hours at the keyboard.

Bottom line is that my orthopedist says I will do permanent injury to my back, shoulder, neck etc. if I don't reduce the number of hours working on the site, and get some extended periods away from screen, keyboard, and mouse.

How Donations Can Help
If you want to ensure that things keep running smoothly in the future, donations are very welcome. We hope to increase donation revenues so that a Forum Manager can be hired.

Over the last year, approximately two percent (2%) of Forum members have donated to the site. We need to increase that number. Consider this -- a movie ticket can cost $10 these days for just 90 minutes of marginal "entertainment". Those who donate $20.00 a year will be acknowledged as "Site Contributors" (the gold banners you see). $20/year is just $1.66 per month, the price of a soft drink.

Enjoy the long overdue vacation. Thanks for maintaining a great site. And, the donation reminder. Chipping in again right now.

You have earned it. And it's probably the reason you have the best site of it's class on Earth!

I wouldn't mind if you set something up where members could make a quarterly, semi annual, or yearly contribution. I know I refer to this site (my #1 choice) anytime I need information or ?

At this moment, I am sending a little something to hopefully help you have a great time on your well deserved vacation.

Of course, we will need a full report when you get back.

Dennis

PS: I just noticed you can set up reoccurring monthly donations on the site.

I will use this in the future and hopefully other members will do the same.

Take some really cool pictures if you can and when you get back post them. I hope you have fun and above all RELAX!!!!

Well it's about TIME!

Gonna take you half that time to stop wondering what's going on back at the shop....

And who do YOU know that limits themselves to ONE 20oz. bottle of Coke (or similar) a month, huh?

:eek:You should tell us where you're going and give us your cell number so we can call you and whine about our site issues! NOT!! But we may have been there and can give you "travel tips" to help you relax better. :) Have a great time and travel carefully! Josh.

Good Point. I believe bottled water is more than coke or gasoline now. This definetly makes this site worth whatever you can donate.

Paul, Jay, and the rest have made this site second to none.

Have a safe trip and thank you for maintaining this site. A wealth of information and, on occasion, some really good entertainment!

I have learned to keep a package of microwave popcorn close at hand.

Done deal..$25 in your coffers...

Good reminder to contribute -- I'm new to the forum (and reloading) and have learned an incredible amount from the participants in a very short time..thanks to all and to the administrators.

Just recieved my gun safe, purchased from Monmouth Reloading (site sponser) from the commercial classified listings. Thanks Boss for running a top notch site and giving us opportunities to further our sport. Donation for some vacation fun headed your way!!

Hope you get the help that is obviously needed, soon.
When you do get a helper, you should take a real vacation for 1 or 2 months.
12 days sounds like a weekend to me. Totally deserve it.

I like the idea of one month at least! Thanks for your comment. Re hiring -- We need to ramp up Forum-specific revenues to be able to offer the support Forum members want. Doing the Daily Bulletin is more than a full-time job by itself.
