Just got home from picking up my new rifle.
Installed the new pic rail.
Installed the rings and scope.
UPS showed up with my new bore guide and cleaning rod-rimfire stuff
Ran a couple wet patches and a couple dry patches down the tube
Borescope inserted- Yikes!!

Wow, I have several Tikka's and recently purchased a Tikka T1X, and they all shoot terrific. However, I have never looked at the bore of any of them with a bore scope.

Nevertheless, I have to agree with you, that looks awful bad, and I would be shocked if it shot well but I would at least try it. Also surprised it made it out the door at the factory. Disheartening to say the least.

I'm going to send it in and see what they'll do, no way I see them saying that's okay. All my other Tikkas have pretty good looking barrels.
If they tell me to pound sand then I will definitely update this.

Normally I see these threads and think someone found the tiniest imperfection and they are losing their minds without testing.
In this case... Ick! I get that the hore scopes magnify things but that is pretty bad. That is plum nasty actually. Id like to know how the reamer go into the groves.

How does it shoot?

Probably a dirty mandrell when they CHF'ed the barrel?

CHF mandrell maintence and cleanliness is a must! When you hear about companies CHF barrels with chuncks missing like the old Remington barrel pre-sale it was because they where not maintaining the mandrelss. A mandrell has to be maintained just like a stamping die in terms of diemensions and the number of parts between maintence cycle is very real.

No way would I even bother shooting a new firearm with a bore that looked like that.

No way, no Sir, not acceptable.
