Not Happy

Just to clarify , not to step on toes , but a small ring can be a 98 (which has an inner collar ) or a 91-96 which is technically a small ring , and has no inner collar . I doubt the smiths that work on such would even rebarrel a weaker 91-96 . If someone came to me with the orig posts question I would explain that too many bad possibilities , and would explain them , then hand his rifle back .

Cgmac: Thanks for the clarification. In my case it was a 96 mauser. So if I understand correctly there is no "inner" shoulder in which case my guy should have cut a relief between the reciever and the SCRAPED barrel and then began the barrel unscrewing process. I had a L-W barrel that was mil-spec I wanted installed

( To be fair let me add that the chamber had been welded shut which I was told softend the reciever and thats why it twisted... maybe yes and maybe no.... Perhaps that "issue" should of been brought to my attention before hand)
