Nosler Lead-Free 55gr Accuracy?

Has anyone tested the accuracy of the Nosler Varmint Lead Free 55gr 6mm bullets?

I ask because I need convert one of my guns to handle lead-free bullets here in CA for high-volume squirrel shooting...so I have a second gun. I want to get a faster twist barrel for my 6BR so it will stabilize the longer non-toxic bullets, but given there is only 1 lead-free Ballisitc Tip bullet for this caliber, I'm curious to know how they fly before I drop $500 on a new barrel...I tested the Varmint Grenades in .224, and they fall far short of my accuracy standards. Alternatively, I could convert this gun to a 22PPC (my Nesika handles both bolt-faces), thus giving me more bullet options...but I really like the bigger pills to coincide with my .223 Ackley. All of my guns are either former benchrest guns, or of benchrest quality. I recently tested my .223 Ackely with Barnes varmint grenades and 35 Nosler NTXs...the Varmint Grenades were horrible, but NTXs were great...in the .2s and .3s! I haven't tried the Nosler Lead-Free in .224 (I never really loved their lead bullets when compated to V-Max and BlitzKings).

I just noticed that Nosler is claiming a BC of .288 on this bullet. That would offer impresssive ballastics at 3800 fps from my 6BR. But I don't know, that seems hard to believe. Whenever I compare Nosler's bullets to Hornady and Sierra counterparts, Nosler always seemt so claim a higher BC, so I've always "assumed" Nosler exxagerates their BCs somewhat. I guess I'll have to get my 2nd Chrono operational so I can do some testing at some point.

Ugh. 9 years later I'm back wanting to chamber up a 6BR with a little longer throat and little faster twist to shoot the 6mm Nosler lead free 55s...and searching forum I came across my own stupid post. Seems very few people have used these bullets, and their availability has been intermittent at best. Cost aside, if these bullets shoot true, their BC would make them vastly superior to other 55 grain offerings.

I suppose if I go down this path and they don't shoot, the barrel would be optimized for 70-75 grain poly tip offerings, so it wouldn't be complete loss.

I use them for coyote hunting and they work well in my 6x45mm and 6mm-204 accuracy is on par with 55gr lead bullets in my rifles. The 62gr VG's shot well also but weren't very fur friendly leaving large exits. The 55gr NBT's usually stayed in the coyote with body shots.

That's promising! I know every rifle is different, but I generally look for .25" groups at 100yards out of my heavy match/bench guns with varmint bullets. I have shot many groups in the 1s with Sierra 6mm 55 Blitzking, but the BC is poor. "Assuming" these nosler lead free bullets have a BC in the .26 or .27 range (gained. 288), they would be killer ground squirrel medicine out to 350 or 400yards...if they group well enough.

I'm gonna try them out of my 6x47L...when supply is available anyhow.
