Nosler J4 Comp Projectiles

What does everyone think about the Nosler J4,Custom Competition,J4 Comp, whatever they're calling them now) .224"/52gr projectiles? How do they compare to Sierra MK's? The only rifle I've used the J4's in really liked them.It was a Savage 10FP/308 and grouped almost .100" better than MK's,both in 168gr.I talked a buddy of mine into trying them in his 300WM,but he said the MK's shot better in his.I guess I really want to know about the quality overall, any caliber/weight they offer.

I've used their 77gr and 80gr .224 bullets and 155gr .30 cal bullets w/ good results; as good or better than the equivalent Sierra Match Kings in my guns plus cheaper to boot. Haven't tried the newer 52gr Custom Competition bullets. FWIW, Nosler hasn't used J4 jackets for a couple years now.

I tried the 168s in my 300 RSAUM. I was getting horizontal groups 1.5" up and to the right from my current zero. The groups looked like this OOO with all three touching at 100 yards. At 200m, the rounds were more like a six inch line still perfectly horizontal. I inquired around and discovered the diffences between SMKs and Nosler CC jacket composition. I had been shooting 175 gr SMKs earlier and had not cleaned out my barrel before shooting the Nosler CCs. I have not had the chance to retest the bullets from a clean barrel as of yet. I have heard good things from fellow shooters with the 168s in 308s and 30-06s.

I am waiting to get some of the .224 52s to test out in my .22-250. Right now I have some 55gr Bergers to play with first, then I will go piddle with the Noslers. If I fins some good, I'll be sure to post some pics of the targets.
