Nosler Custom Competition Projectiles

For cost and availability reasons I'm looking at moving to 155gr Nosler Custom Competition prijectiles,palma, .308Win). The Nosler website doesn't have much information on it, does anyone have experience with these projectiles? How do they perform? Are they a tangent or secant ogive?

Thanks for the help. Sorry if my questions seem stupid but I am new to this whole reloading thing.

The 155gr Nosler is a coventional bullet. I have had good results with them.

Functionally identical to the,old) 155gr Sierra Matchking. Same size and shape, about as close to a clone/knock-off as they get. Shot as good,or better) but cheaper. Now similarly eclipsed by the new Sierra 155gr 'Palma' Matchking, Berger 155.5gr BT 'Fullbore', & Lapua 154gr Scenar.

I did some load testing back on 7/8/05 from a 24' H-S Precision HTR in 308, using the Nosler Custom Comp. 155g. I tested them with Varget and IMR 4895.

The best load was using 44,0g of Varget at 2731 fps ES 26.54 SD of 9.53. Shooting better than .5 moa at 100. 45.0g of Varget picked its speed up to 2791 ES 29.09 SD 12.20
And 43.5g of IMR-4895 at 2762 fps ES 55.71 SD 30.06

Of the two powders, with comparable speed, and both using GM-210M primers, the Varget had better ES and SD, and was the most accurate in my rifle.

My standard target load is, 168G SMKs and 44.5g of Varget shoots at 2720 fps ES 27.52 SD 10.58 and consistently is in the sub .4s @100.

Sounds like they should suit me well. I'll be loading ADI 2208 looking for 2950 fps. Should be doable with 45.5 grains.

2208 = Australian version of Varget.
2208H = Australian version of H4895

2950fps is standard velocity for the 155g bullet in a 30' barrel for Palma loads.

30' palma barrel. Most people can hit 2950 easy but have pressure signs going much faster.

2208 is right next to Varget in the burn rate chart. They can be pretty much interchanged in Quickload.
