Another National record was set Sunday up at the Northwestern Gun Club in Duluth, MN. Congratulations to Jon Clauson, aka Nosualc, shot (4) 200-18X strings at 500 yards on Sunday. According to NRA records, this beats the current 200-17X record. Doing this once was an accomplishment, but doing it four times was amazing. Not much wind, but shooting directly east into the sun with the Northern MN fog and haze was very hard for the first relay on both days.
On Saturday, Jon shot a 200-19X at 300 yards, just missing another record. Jon won all the F-Class matches for the weekend. Adam Schidla, aka Fpskills, was close behind Jon all weekend.
Jon was shooting a 6mmBRX smithed by Stan Ware. The first time on the line earlier this summer, Jon shot a 200-19X with this rifle at an Approved match. I shot next to Jon both days, it was much fun to watch his target come up X's all weekend. No worries of cross-firing, if the target to my left didn't have an X scoring disk, I needed to look where I was!
