Northlander RemAge barrels

I am considering putting a RemAge (Remington thread with barrel nut) on a 700 Remington action. Has anyone here done this?

What I need to know is if the barrel nut is slim enough that you don't have to take too much wood from the factory stock, that it makes the wood too thin on the sides. Are there any other problems associated with this fit up?

I cant wait till you get your barrel as I want to try this as well.Alot of people are on the fence over this and alot of smiths are not happy as it takes work away from them. They shouldnt fight it but join them.I use savage recievers and the concept works for them so why wouldnt it work equally well for them.I would call Jim at Northlander supply and quiz him on this concept turned reality. The gunsmith will still get lots of business modifying other parts and that will keep them busy.Keep us updated...Jon
