NORMA MRP OPINIONS PLEASE

Shot lots of it in a 280 Ackley with great results. Accounted for more deer than all my other rifle and powder combinations combined.

Did I hear that this is the same as RL22 ?
If so, I’ve used a bunch. High velocities and very good accuracy in magnum cases.

I have used it since it was introduced in several calibers. 1) .22-6mm with 80.5gr bergers high velocity and accurate, 2s grouping
2) 6.5-55 with 160 woodleigh 2750 with 0.5 moa. 3) .300 mags with various 180-200 gr bullets. High velocity and accurate.
4) .338 rum with 250 gr barnes. 2986 out of 26" krieger barrel and very accurate, 5/8" 3 shot grp at 100.
It is pretty dense and you can get a lot in the case. Temperature sensitive to some degree but I have used it 20-100 F without pressure problems when hunting.
It is not as good as the old N 205 which it replaced which was the best power I ever found for loading weatherby cases.
Give it a try and see how it does for you. Not easy to get but you may find it very good and at least as good as many options.

I have used a good deal of both MRP and Rl-22 in the same cartridge in the same rifles. While I found both to be close in terms of burn rate I always found MRP to be about 2 gr slower. Somewhat like IMR 4831 and H 4831. Close but not the same. JME
