Norma 7 Rsaum Brass

Is Norma 7 Rsaum Brass still being made? I can't find any available and some of the various sources say "No Longer Available" and others say it is on back order. Anyone know if it has been discontinued by Norma?

I've been using the 300saum necked down; looks like it may be time for a lifetime batch buy.

I just tried to register on the ADG website to get on their wait list. They want a 12 digit password to register. To buy Brass? Give us a break. I gave up. Has anyone used it yet that can give a report?

ADG does not have the room that Norma/Nosler have. It can be around 1 grain less powder. Harder to get the same velocity.

Nosler is garbage. 2 firings and mine is trashed. Splitting necks on 3-4 firing. Never again.

I have heard the Norma 300 SAUM necked down is good.

Fully prepared Remington is about the best, but not in production anymore.

Biggest problem with 7 SAUM it's the brass. I will probably never shoot mine again...

Just loaded up "once fired" Remington brass with H4350 and a Berger Hunting VLD. Think I will continue to shoot it. Got some fire cracking in the leade but barrels are cheap, smiles not so much...

I have (200) pieces of Norma 7 saum brass if you need it. I started using ADG. It has 2 grains more case capacity than Norma and is tougher.

Curious, do ya find that ya need more capacity? In my limited experience with the saum, I’ve hit pressure before running out of room or compressing. RL26, H1000, retumbo, 4831,RL17. Or do ya hit pressure a little later gaining a couple grains capacity? Thanks for the info on adg

I needed more powder to reach same speed as Norma. Mine is throated with .235 FB so it’s around 3.150 with 184’s. I can fit 66 grains H1000 with 6”’drop tube and not crunch. I am shooting 64.3 with my current lot and a 24” barrel and 184’s for 2900. 2980 in my 28”.

I could use it. How much do you want for the lot of it? Is it new brass?

Isn’t it the same brass different head stamp? Pretty sure norma makes nosler

I believe so too, but neither company would confirm. However, cartridge to cartridge it behaves differently. Thus the 300 SAUM is not equal to the 7 SAUM or other caliber cases by Norma.

Usually when a company like Norma makes brass for another, it is made to their specs. Look at Norma Weatherby brass verses Weatherby brass. Both made by Norma but big difference. Matt
