Norma 6PPC brass

is the Norma brass just softer and wont last as long or are there other reasons why I need to do all the forming of the Lapua 220R brass?? I have a couple hundred pieces of Norma PPC brass that was pretty much free but I dont want to waste bbl life and bullets tuning a load for it if there are accuracy issues with the Norma brass,,

I have heard that newer runs of Norma brass is tougher than older lots but havent had any experience with it,,

it would be nice to just turn necks and shoot the Norma but am prepared to do whatever it takes,,

My friend has used the current Norma brass in his 6PPC in competition with no problem at all. The older stuff was way too soft.

I've been using the Norma brass for at least 12 years in one rifle. It obviously prefers the Norma. I have another rifle that I tuned in last spring, and it prefers the Norma over the Lapua. I have another that I tuned in last fall and it ever so slightly prefers the Lapua over the Norma...... but slightly better means better scores.

Whether the Norma is softer or not than the Lapua doesn't matter to me, because if the rifle likes it better, that's what I'm feeding it.

Personally I've never seen a difference in the number of reloadings one brand gets over the other but that's just me. JME. WD

i have used the old 220 russion brass fom the late 70s.
got 40 pcs ,of the norma brass free in 1988 have yet to shoot it.i need a 6 ppc rifle.but I saw test done in precision shooting back in the early 90s.if you can look up the articles and see what the differenc is.
