Norma 6mm Dasher Brass

Changeling said:
This question has probably been asked before but I really don't know the answer!

What is the reason that Shiraz (or Anyone) doesn't try to negotiate with Lapua for a dasher case contract ? I have been under the impression that Lapua was a smaller company then Norma, therefore more likely to "make a deal" with.

With the high price of tooling involved Lapua might not make a profit producing dasher brass. Lapua would cannibalise their existing 6BR sales - in other words they would either sell 6BR or dasher brass - one for one - with no profit for the trouble involved to do so.

I am guessing but I would bet that Lapua sells more 6BR brass than Norma. It makes sense for Norma to try to attract people that buy Lapua by offering "ready made" dasher brass for those averse to fireforming 6BR brass.

Dasher brass update yet? I'm thinking of building a Dasher but it looks like fire forming or using someones forming die for me...

Ray if you don't mind I'd like to use your WSM. But I was also thinking of turning my wife's rifle into a dasher!

My WSM still has some life in it, Maybe even do better with some upgrades in my reloading gear.. I would like to build it through the winter and maybe test with it some in some shoot offs..

Yes ,,Really,,,I realize that you are shooting F-class ,but that is belly benchrest,,I have shot every brand there is and know from benchrest experiense that you can use a load that works routinely in Lapua brass and if you use it in Norma (Im talking PPC or BR) you will have to pry the bolt open,,,and I know that different cases have diff capacity,,,if you load to the same velocity with the same powder ,,,it will be obvious,,,if you are using Norma brass you are giving up a lot of pressure which is equal to velocity and velocity and BC are what counts at both short and long range,,,why do you think that all the BR or Dasher shooters are using Lapua brass,,,,ooo I know Norma is hyping the double stamped head claim as the cure for soft brass,,If Lapua would ever make WSM or 300 H&H they would corner the market ,,,,I guess we will just have to wait and see,,,Roger
I shoot with both brass and have no problems with sticky bolt!!

I have 15 firings on both lapua and Norma brass, 50pcs of both lost 2 from each brand fire forming. And both shoot the same load. I have not had to anneal, I have trimmed once. I have some of both that the primer pockets are starting to get a little easier to push primers in but they are of both brands, and still okay to use. The groups do not change the bolt does not stick. 0.343 moa @100yards.
