Norma 6 Dasher Brass "limitations" ?

I fire-formed 100 pcs. of Normas' 6 Dasher brass last year using mild loads and I'm happy with the end result. My question is that has anyone ran them "hot" (current load in Lapua brass has me right at 3,100 fps) and if so what was your actual experience (not looking for load recipes) with the brass holding up to that type of use. I realize that I'll have to work up a load to get me close or same FPS as I get with Lapua but in the interim I don't want to get caught without a fall-back plan which would have me fire-forming new brass for the upcoming season. Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has had either good or less than stellar results with this brass in the "high end" realm of use. Thank you.

From my own perspective, it depends on the chamber dimensions and what the dies used will size the brass to.
The Shiraz/Norma 6Dasher case specifications are tighter then the Lapua 6Dasher specifications, which will be complimented by tighter chambers and die specifications as well, that in return will not let the brass expand as much, that will prevail in brass life and achievable pressure/velocity.

I have talked with Donovan about this and the reamer dimensions for the Norma brass.

I`m going to assemble a 6 BR AI or a 6 Dasher ( Norma ) for launching the light bullets @ warp speed at pasture poodles.

I`m still picking up parts, so i have some time to decide still, the new brass with the thinner rim should help eliviate that little hurdle.

Either way i will need custom dies, so that`s that.....

Either one will need to be fire formed, but not die formed, this is what i`m after for a high volume varmint blaster.

The Dasher should get me the speed i want, with the BR AI close behind.......decisions, decisions......;)

What is considered warp speed? Its surprising what velocity you can get out of a std 6BR and 55g-60g without harming the case at all.

AA2230 is delivering 3900+ from the 6 BR with 55`s.

So my guesstimate would be 3900-4000 depending on chambering, as well as all the other factors involved.....:eek::eek:

Which does do you think will work best? I'm still fire forming new brass and haven't purchased a sized yet. I was going to go with either a Whidden or Redding bushing

No way can I run my normal Lapua loads with the Norma brass. I have two Dashers and one will stay Lapua. I get 3,030 fps with 105's and no hint of pressure.

The other one will literally blank and trash things at .5 gr. less with unfired Norma Dasher brass. After one firing a full grain lower, I can get within .5 grains of the Lapua yielding 3010 fps. Both have same 30" bbl. If I try to even get a bit faster with the Norma brass it's all trouble that arises. I am right on the edge and have never been happy being there.

Right now I am slowly fire forming more Lapua and soon expect to stop using the Norma stuff.
