Norma 217 and Ramshot LRT

Out of curiosity I tried two new powders in the 264WM. Using twice fired Jag 7mm RM brass necked down and turned to .0141 . H20 84.1. 139 Scenars and WLRM primers.

For comparison 68g Retumbo averages 3242 in my rifle. That comes with ejector marks. Average 3 shot right at .5 inch.

I tried Ramshot LRT and Norma 217 today. Went from 73.5 -75.5 which is right at 100% fill in my brass. Topped out at Average of 3190 fps. No sign of pressure. 74 and 75.5 grouped slightly under one inch at 200 yards. The rest, not so good. One half grain would change the impact point a lot.

Norma 217 seems to be my huckleberry. Went from 68g to 69. Still have room for a little more in the case. 68.5 shot 3157,3155, 3157. .298 inch at 200 yards. 69 shot 3158, 3162 and 3156 for .348 at 200. 3 shot. This is a 18 lb rifle shooting off a rest.

Norma 217 seems about 1.5 g slower than Retumbo in my rifle

LRT is a LOT slower than Retumbo. It might just be near US869.
Got outstanding velocity with LRT in 26 Nosler withless pressure than my H50BMG load, and faster also.

Yes. Not as accurate as H50BMG.
You didn't say what bullet weight you are shooting.?

Someone said with the 264 WM you half to be your own ballistician. I spent days researching 217 and running Quickload which showed the same pressure rise as Retumbo. Wrong.
