As the title says, I bought a barrel for a project, small shank Savage, pre-chambered. When I inspected it this evening, I discovered that the throat, and I presume the entire chamber, has been cut off center. The sides of 1 land are both visible all the way to the neck, while the entire land on the opposite side is completely removed, along with some of the grooves, out .250" or more from the neck.
I have heard of barrels chambered like this before, but as I have never seen, nor tried to shoot one before, I thought I'd ask how detrimental to accuracy this is? I'm thinking 'tomato stake' is too generous, but like I said, I've no reference.
How bad is this?
Thanks.
