Non-Alumina caps and sunshade for Leupold

I love the Alumina accessories but hate the price. Are alternative sunshades available? Also, anyone have experience with flip up caps that did the job well? God bless Butler Creek but a step up in quality is needed.

That looked like a good direction. But for some reason they’re not listing VX-3 scopes.

If you're a once-a-year hunter, then the Bulter Creek flip ups will last a long time. However, if you like me, going to the range 2 to 3 times a week, weather permitting, and varmint / predator hunting 40 or so days a year in the field then these caps are consumables. They lose their friction fit quickly with repeated use, at least that has been my experience.

I'd like to see a re-design to make them more durable for repeated use. I tried removable caps and was always misplacing them or losing them in the field.

I will be watching this thread to see if there is a better alternative for a variety of scope sizes, i.e., Leupold, Bushnell, Nikon which I have.
