Nodes with IMR 4064 in a 308

I am in the process of load development with my Savage 12 F T/R in 308. I am using Lapua Brass, CCI BR-2 Primers, IMR 4064 and 175 SMKs. Length is 2.800 which is about .020" off the lands. I say about because the length of the SMKs varies a few thousandths in the tips.

I started out with 41.6g of powder and worked up to 45.2 grains.

I seem to have found nodes at 41.6, 42.4, 43.6 and 44.8. I find it strange that there are nodes that are 1.2 grains apart, and then the odd ball, 41.6.

Do nodes typically vary in incremental groups or is it normal to have them at odd intervals, like the one at 41.6?

Thanks for the help.

Is your rifle stock chamber, mine was short at 2.780 and that was touching.
your nodes are similar to what i had as well.

In my experience nodes can be extremely variable.

Ive never really found them to be incremental.

I used 43.8 gns of 4064 behind a 185 gn berger and it was very accurate. Seemed to be a common node too.
