No turn neck accuracy ?

Lonnie, the process of neck turning is one of the small details that can add up but it is no miracle worker by itself. The two main points to consider are: 1. chamber neck dimension and 2. case neck thickness variance.

If your chamber has more than 0.004" clearance on a loaded round, and I'm being generous here) you might not see any benefit to neck turning. If your cases have less than 0.002" variance and you are firing in a chamber with ample clearance, again, you might not see much of an improvement.

Neck turning is useful whan you have a chamber neck that is close to loaded round diameter,0.002" or less). Your brass is then turned to equal thickness to promote loaded round concentricity and to prevent intereference with the chamber from thick spots. Of course some chambers are cut well below the thickness of loaded unturned brass and you must turn with them simply to get a fit.

With a 6BR 0.271" neck chamber, Lapua brass and any application short of competitive Benchrest, you'll do fine with no turning or a very light,0.001") clean-up cut.
