No spotting disc?

Soa local range is holding a 600yd practice this saturday, however, they do not have pits, so you dont get anyone pulling your target to put in a spotting disc. I do not have a spotting scope (gasp!), and the scope on my rifle is a Sightron 8-32x. Assuming low mirrage (which it usually is here), do you think I will be able to see my hits with a 308 win. on a white Corrogated plastic backer/ 12" shoot and see target?

On a shoot n see target even at that range I would think you might be able to see it if the sun isnt blinding you.

There is no spotting disk used in 600 yard Benchrest, honestly I don't understand why they use them or pull targets in F class. In Benchrest many ranges will lay out clay birds used in trap shooting, and you can easily sight in using them with a 20 power scope. (I would imagine even less , just never done it.) I don't know if you would see your hits on a plastic target or a 12 inch shoot and see target or not. I can say it is possible when the light is right to see 6mm bullet holes in white paper at 600 yards with a 32 power scope. (BTDT if the shots are in the blue you will not see them.)

I help work the target crew and also help run the shooting line here at Piedmont Gun Club in N.C. We use 2-1/2 inch clays at 600 yards , six clays beside each target laid out on a rock dust berm between the target stands two rows of three you can easily see your hits if you get back up on your scope but shooting at that distance and trying to see hits on a white backer would be up to mother nature, mirage will most likely dictate :-X
