No Love for F-Class?

Is it standard practice at other ranges to eliminate F-Class shooters from the 'Match Winner' category if they have the highest score? 11-sling, 9-F-Class. My gut says they would be seperate but equal, having 2 match winners. One from each category.

At our club, you need to have at least four shooters in a class to have a match winner. They may combine F-Open and F-TR, but not Sling and F-Class.

We at Folsom Shooting Club award sling shooters by classification and have an F-Open and an F-TR division each with awards. Our match winner for the day is the highest score irregardless of the rifle. It's quite a challenge to beat a good sling shooter with an "F" rifle on any given day.

I shoot F-Open.
And pretty much at the bottom of the list.

We just publish the scores for each class. Winners beyond that are just a matter of opinion.

Once you have 2 or more good shooters taking Tactical seriously the high score for the day is automatic!

yea, those of us who shoot F-TR are pretty much not in competition for that one, kind of like shooting a service rifle against the “any rifles”.

We award winners in each category. The F-open category is so competitive that no other category would stand a chance otherwise.

How the awards are given out is largely at the discretion of the match director, i.e. how the match bulletin was written. I used to attend a state match where at least 10 shooters were required within either a single or combined division (F-Class or Conventional) in order for there to be a trophy awarded.

Early on, when there was a sufficient number of combined (F-TR and F-Open) F-Class shooters to have a state trophy, the trophy obviously went to the highest scoring individual, which was most likely going to be an F-Open shooter. Fortunately, the sport has grown over the years to the extent that both F-TR and F-Open now have sufficient shooters in each discipline to justify having separate trophies in that particular match.

5 or more Shooters in any Category and Class would be 1st or Winner in said .

The Match Winner is High Score .
Check NRA Rules .

I won this War at a Regional a couple years back .
MD Gave the Medal to Lower Score and Me High Palma Rifle ? A Call to the NRA and asking who gets the Medal ?
Worked for me Nice For the Wall .

Now a Club Match MD can run it His Way ?

Most of one's questions regarding awards should be answered in a well-written match bulletin.

Some bulletins could be improved to resolve ambiguities. When in doubt, I often have a look at the match results from a couple months to see how the awards are listed.

I don't really see myself competing with those in other categories. Being the highest F-TR score is pretty satisfying, but often I have to be happy with a lower HM score. Mostly, I'm competing with the conditions and my past scores.

That is not true. Nik Montin has done it often, including just last weekend. Some tough F-TR shooters here. And some tough service rifle shooters also.
