No coyotes

Went out this morning to a friend's farm to see about finding some dogs. I seen 2 at 650 yards, but by the time I was getting setup, they trotted up another 50 yards or so. I decided to let a 75g ELDM fly at 3000fps from the LR 28" bolt 223 Wylde anyway. I seen the bullet impact just low at the feet kicking up dirt, sending the coyote into the next gear and county.

On the way out I stopped at the range and put a quick 3 shot group on steel at 600 yards bench/ bipod/rear bag. CTC it probably went closer to 2" as a 223 case is only 1.75" long. Guess I can't use the rifle as an excuse as to why I missed haha.

WOW! You got a benchrest-quality group at 600 yards with a 223. I often shoot different 223's with 77 gr. bullets and cannot come close to that. In most cases wind and mirage conditions completely below them off target during any shooting session.

I have been testing a bolt 223 that I will use in an F-Class match next Sunday. At 300 yards it will group 1/2 mom until there is a slight wind. Then the target looks like this ...........

You must be really good or found a day with no wind or mirage.
