No action?

Fair few guns lock into the back of the barrel but having a scope rail and a couple of action screws holding it all straight is a head scratcher..

"We saved you 10oz in this ultimate light weight action . . . . . Yeah. Ok . . .we did need to built it on a 10lb chassis to get some rigidity back. . .but still!"

Nothing on their website related to this, guess it was a SHOT preview.
I don't get it. Barrel extensions? I don't see any other way this could work.

I'll withhold final judgement pending actually seeing wtf it is, but looks to me like a lot of wasted R&D $$.

There is a longer video on youtube that explains it a bit, but yes it uses barrel extensions.

Depending on how well it's made and how well it keep POA aligned with POI, maybe it would be good for long range hunting and other comps where you have to ruck your stuff.

Right now I'm highly skeptical though

Would seem to be their intended niche market.
So they think it's enough to say the action weighs 2 oz.? Why not add the weight of that steel barrel extension, and the BOLT that's part of the assembly? Then it would be closer to apples-apples if you're comparing it to a Ti action.

Anyone interested in an ultra-light is going to look at total weight, not the receiver.
At the end of the day, how's it compare to a Ti action, and CF barrel and stock...

My $$ sez it isn't going to be close weight-wise, though a CF mountain rifle is going to cost more.

All they are saving is the side rails which is FA by the time the bolt raceways and the mag cut are done. Then you have to buy and mount it in an aluminium chassis to keep it all straight.

The only benefit I can see could be it might give you more access to clear a jam.
