Nikon repair

I have a earlier Nikon monarch 5.5x16.5 x44. It’s been a great scope and great glass. It has quit tracking windage please tell me I can send it off and it can get repaired. I know Nikon no longer services scopes. I have seen a few times on the forum places that repair scopes just don’t know who or where. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Small update, it takes a man to own up to his mistakes but my scope seems fine thank goodness. While shooting 680yds in a switching stiff wind, trash talking got in the way of clear thinking and I ended up putting the wrong windage in the scope. It was my first time ever making that mistake and hopefully the last PAY ATTENTION

First time ever? Sorry to inform you that it will not be your last. Also, age seems to cause it to happen more often.

Yea, well as far as shooting distance. I have goofed up getting one sighted in at 100 after a scope change a couple of times but was recognized almost immediately what I had done.

My comment was self-deprecatory. I have adjusted the windage the wrong way many times in competition, to the point where I work REALLY HARD to avoid messing with windage during a string. I remember when not too long ago, I actually managed to fall off the target during sighters after a big wind edrop-off between relays. Instead of erasing the 3.5-minute correction, I added another 3.5 minutes and promptly shot the next target. I attribute this to age.

Elevation is sneakier because I do sometimes add or subtract elevation as a string progesses. Nothing more fun than winding the elevation the wrong way and instead of bringing the POA down holding in the 9-ring, your next shot goes into the 8-ring instead of the X you coveted. It would have been better to keep holding in the 9-ring rather than mess with elevation.

I am not alone with this affliction.

Denys..You Sir are dead on....lol
I too try to remind myself to just hold a bit more and leave the vindage alone....unless its really blowing.

The reason I even opened this thread was Nikon. I have a couple of Nikon Monarchs; one is a 6.5-20X44 and the other is their Tactical at the time, a Monarch 2.5-10X44. Both scopes are great, work well and are in boxes somewhere.I really liked the Nikon Monarch line, it was excellent; robust, great glass and good value for the money. That, and the fact I was a Nikon camera afficionado from eons ago. I'm glad the OP found his issue had nothing to do with his Nikon. The rest, as they say, is history.

I must confess that I have never heard of a Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5X44.

For whatever reason I liked the earlier version with the adjustable objective a lot more than the newer side focus models. Pictures are Here for your education lol. I never had a 4x12 version as they never show up, hard to find. I used to have an older Nikon gold monarch 2.5x10x50 side focus 30mm tube image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Nice. That is very similar to my Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20X44. It has an AO also, no side focus.

For some reason, Nikon changed the name of the 2.5-10X44 several times. It started as the Tactical, then Gold, then X. But I think it was the same one. I bought mine in '05, I think it was. I got the UCC in '03.

I had 2 6.5x20x44. Adjustable objectives. My cousin owns both now. One was made in Japan the other was the Philippines. I think I know where the 2.5x10x50 30 tube side focus is. I’ll try and post a pix later on. It never would clear up on max power at 300 yards or so. Other than that it was a very good image
