looking for personal feed back on those. I know they lack the adjustment, but I can get by.

thanks

I don't have the monarch but I have two Nikons and I really like them. The 6-18-40 buckmasters is a really good hunting and decent mid-rage target scope for the money.I also have a 3-9-40 pro-staff that I like also.

Several buck master scopes in 6-18x40, SF, and several pro staff 5s in 3.5-14x, SF, that replaced them.
Not an single issue w/tracking or dialing out to 800 yards.

Monarchs are solid with great glass and low light performance. I've owned two 4-16x50mm Monarchs and still have one. No issues. Solid clicks on the turrets and excellent tracking.

I also recently purchased the brand new Nikon Prostaff 7 4-16x42mm scope for a hunting rifle. I was planning on buying another Monarch 4-16, but the new Prostaff 7 4-16 has taller turrets and a 30mm tube that allows for 80 MOA elevation adjustment. The clicks on the Prostaff 7 turrets are just as solid as the Monarch and when I put it side by side with my 4-16 Monarch, the Prostaff 7 glass clarity/resolution and eye relief was every bit as good on all power levels. The glass quality on the 7 really amazed me. If I am ever faced with the decision of buying another Monarch 4-16 or Prostaff 7 4-16, I would definitely buy the 7 again. Especially since the 7 only cost me $289 brand new during a sale Cabelas was having.

I have not owned a Buckmasters or other Prostaff models. I Hope this feedback helps you out in your decision.

im sold and thank you. I was really looking hard at the prostaff 7 4-16x42, prostaff 5 4.5-18x40 and the monarchs.
thanks guys.
