Nikon BLACK FX1000 is now available

bman940

Love to shoot,
I have been asked to let you know when Nikon's BLACK FX1000 scope's will be ready for delivery. That time has finally come. They shipped to retailer's last week and I know a few guy's who have already received their scopes. Drop me a note if you have any troubles or questions. I look forward to reading your reviews.

Can we talk about the crappy turrets in this thread like in long range hunting??? ;):):D

Just kidding. Looks like a solid scope. I always enjoyed the little prostaffs on my hunting rifles they’ve never failed me. Got the P223 scope and it’s fun with the Nikon spot on app. If those scopes performed I’m sure this one will really step up to the plate.

I'll tell you my opinion of Nikon.. They only feel that professional hunting guides and cops deserve their discount. Evidently, Nikon doesn't feel the military is deserving. I'll stick with either Leopold or Vortex. Vortex Optics offers military and Veterans a 40% discount.. Leopold also offers military discounts. Maybe when Nikon puts us on an equal footing with the police I'll send them some business, but for now they'll get none of mine.

nikon is HQ in Japan. It’s a Japanese company. The other scope companies are HQ in the US. While mil discounts are nice for us, why would nikon give a crap about the US military? I understand why it’s annoying, but the Japanese don’t owe anything to the US military. They are probably still a little bitter to be honest.

First of all, nobody cares about your warped and misguided opinion. If you want your little handouts from everyone, go hang out with the liberals.

I'm a veteran myself, but I dont complain and bash companies just because they don't want to give me a handout. I served because I wanted to help keep terrorism and radical dictators from attacking our freedom. I was committing a selfless act to protect this nation and do not expect anything in return. EVER. I didn't serve because I wanted to get handouts and sympathy from others when my service was finished. If a company wants to say thank you by giving me a discount. Great! That's just a bonus. If not, it doesn't bother me one bit because that is their freedom and right that I served to protect.

then why do they care for American police?? Why bother ot offer American cops a discount? What have the cops done for them? Did they protect the Japanerse immigrants when FDR had them all rounded up and sent to concentration camps? LOL/

I wasn't bashing.. Merely pointing out that Nikon offers a professional hunter or a cop a discount, but not the guy who makes it possible for them to operate here in America.. For me, I found that strange.. Nikon makes great products, but I think Leopold and Vortex Optics do as well and they do value the military enough to offer a significant discount so I spend my $ there. We're all free to pick and choose where we spend our money. So your comments about wanting little handouts isn't necessary. You must be rich to think a 40% discount is a "little handout" For me it was just smart business. If you call wanting to save big money warped and misguided I think you should reconsider your position on the matter.

Vortex doesn't give discounts to non-veterans. Is the normal working man or woman who hasn't served in the military less important in this country than veterans? They provide services for you and I and pay just as much taxes.

I understand wanting to save money, and that's fine. But thats not how you conveyed your original "opinion". It came across as jealousy and envy. Just be thankful that Nikon is supporting our hard working men and women in law enforcement. I think thats great!

When I enlisted in the Marine Corps Infantry, I only did so for my country, not discounts.

Speaking as a veteran, you embarrass me.

Also as a veteran I don't expect discounts. It makes me slightly embarrassed to see or read of a fellow veteran throwing a hissy fit that an active LEO gets a price break and a Vet doesn't. That's liberal snowflake territory. I got to serve with some of the most bad ass mofos in EOD and Uncle Sam paid me to blow things up, shoot guns, and operate very expensive robotic systems for 6 years. I don't need discounts, I have lifetime friends and experiences that cannot be bought or had otherwise, and I got paid to do it all!

Even the discounts that exist I rarely remember to take advantage. I use the 10% at Lowe's. I've used the small ones at some gun/gun part manufacturers which end up being about as good as great sale prices but the manufacturer gets to make a full margin. I try to buy direct if I'm allowed for that reason.

If a place has one, great, if I can take advantage even better. The thing is, I'd rather buy a Sightron scope over Vortex and their 40% discount. I then found out Sightron extends a veteran discount too and it made the decision even easier. If the Nikon ends up being an awesome scope I'll look into getting one discount or not.

Anyway I never panhandle for discounts. If they advertise the discount and it's not a process to get I'll take advantage. Some products just have such small margins any kind of veteran discount isn't possible. Vortex is obviously charging too much for their scopes, between the lifetime warranty and 40% vet discount, they're still making money, but probably not much. All those niceties are built into the price and costs are shared across all consumers for the statistical failure rates and warranty claims.

They are probably still a little bitter to be honest.

That is a true statement.

A B-52 pilot that I know flew over Japan in his bomber due to a large storm. The jap government was so mad that the Air Force took his wings. This was in the 2000's, not 1960's. It would not surprise me if there was a law in Japan that restricts them from offering a military discount.

A discount is not something that should be demanded or expected.

discounts, rebates,,how many here buy directly from Nikon, they don't do business that way,,they do offer rebates at times , but most discounts are given by the dealer,I have to get mine from
a wholesaler , because I can't afford to buy volume,,if you don't like the price get something else,,,quit crying,,
