My last rifle build will be my deer rifle for this year . Its basically a 700 police in 308.
Looking at the nikko stirling diamond 4-16x50
And the 3-12x56.
Granted I know thay are a cheaper product , we only shoot out to 200 yards on food plots .
Does anyone have any experience with either of these ?

A used .22 I bought had one on it. Never would stay zeroed- like 4-6 inches off at 50 yards every time I took it out.. I threw it in the garbage.
If you want a low dollar scope that will work perfectly, get a SWFA. I have a bunch of their straight power 6x,10x & 12x. They are about $350. My doctor has had one on his 50 BMG for 12 years with zero issues.

Good to hear . Any idea what a 10x would look like on a deer at 100-200 yards at sunset ?

For low budget, I'm an Athlon fan.

I wouldn't get a second focal plane for hunting, and steer clear of Sterling,Athlon first focal plane, good scopes.

I have used them on varmints to elk out to 600 yards with no issues 1/2 hour after sunset (end of legal shooting here).
Cool , I just didnt know how good it actually was being a cheap one . Sometimes you get cheap decent stuff . Mostly not .

Any suggestions?

Nikko Sterling had a pretty good reputation down under and was Howa s package scope for years.

For under 200 yards on deer open sights would work but if you need a scope and need to keep the price down the Burris FF line specially the 3-9 would be great.

Heck I have a Simmons 8 point 3-9 duplex matt finish with what look like Leupold rifleman rings you can have free + shipping($15.). PM me for a picture
