I thought the same thing some years ago. Finding these scopes in the USA was problematic, as in zero luck, nor did I ever get any reply whatsoever from their offices in Japan despite repeated emails to them asking for help.

The factory support of any optical product shouldn't be underestimated as a criteria of consideration.
