The New Featherweight
Short range benchrest, rimfire, and air rifle competitors will be now have the competitive advantage with the new featherweight Competition Fixed 42x44 riflescope tipping the scales at a mere 20 ounces.

When weight is critical, yet maximum performance is essential, our newest riflescope is a game-changer.

Purpose-built for the lightweight requirements of short-range Benchrest, this new addition to the CompetitionTM family also excels in precision rimfire and air-rifle applications.

By eliminating the inherent weight of a variable-power mechanism, we were able to build the Competition™ Fixed 42x44 at just 20.7 ounces…without sacrificing the stunning images produced by ED glass or the robust mechanics for which we are known.

As with every Nightforce riflescope, the adjustments (1/8 MOA per click, 10 MOA per revolution) track true and without backlash. The side parallax adjusts from 10 meters to infinity and the eyepiece focuses the etched glass reticle quickly.

This CompetitionTM model utilizes a 44mm objective lens and incorporates premium ED glass, which provides a beautiful image through the optic in any condition. The tube diameter is 30mm, with an overall length of 15.2 inches. Our fine line reticle, the CTR-2TM, and fine line with dot reticle, the CTR-3TM, are available in this model.

Enhanced high contrast engraving is easier to see with larger numbers than most other riflescopes in its class. Internally, there are 45 minutes of angle of elevation adjustment and 35 minutes of windage adjustment available.

As with every CompetitionTM riflescope, the Fixed 42x44 undergoes a rigorous inspection process, to include our legendary impact test, before it can wear the Nightforce name.

The game has changed. The Competition™ Fixed 42x44 is making the rules.

just looked at their new F1 4x14x50 SHV 2.8"-3.1" of eye relief...That's just a wee bit close isn't it for all but the little cases.

I want to check this out for my F-TR rifle, save another 6oz over my Comp, lose some complication and still have the magnification of my still very useful 12-42 NXS's

I dial down from 55 with the Comp but I almost never dial off max mag with the 12-42s.

MSRP is $1800 good to see a new comp scope but i would buy two used Leupolds first.
I have seen a few Leupold Competition scopes fail by not holding POI. In the short range game a lot of guys have sold them or had them froze. I do have a Mark 4 Leupold that I like. I also have a Nightforce Competition 15x55 and the glass is crystal clear. Probably this scope will be the same way. Matt

Matt, I also have a Nightforce Comp 15-55x and I think it's the best scope but I don't see myself being able to get another one. I have a Leupold 40x and have had no problems with it (yet) fingers crossed. I wish Weaver would fix their 46X and bring it back and that Nightforce would take the illuminated recticle off the benchrest model and make that scope more affordable.

Yes that would be nice, I don't ever use the lighted reticule on my BR. My buddy had two of the Leupold Comps fail. It was on a WSM light gun with a brake. They are pretty hard on scopes. I also hope yours don't fail. If the groups start getting funny for no reason don't forget to check it. Good luck Matt.

^^^^ +1....

I seldom turn my 12x42-BR's down any at all, and even when I have it was very little (like say to 38X).
Would like to see them offer the NP-2DD reticle in them as well.....
