Has anyone had any experience with this line? They are quite a bit cheaper. I was thinking about one as a hunting scope.
Thanks
Bill

Bill I just got a 5-20x56 SHV have had it about a month now. have been to the range 4-5 times with it. have shot from 100 to 900 yards with it. it is a cheaper scope than the NXS line. I think all made in japan. says made in japan on the bottom of the turret. optically it is quite nice, compared to my varix6 3-18 leupold and a friends 6-20 zeiss conquest.the optics are as good. I am quite happy with it. things I don't like about it are the zero stop turret has opposing set screws. so you have to consistently keep checking to make sure they are tight. it tracks great. been turning it up and down. the parallax adjustment is not very sensitive past 600 yards it seems say at 800 yards you try and adjust past and back for parallax but you cant because you are already on infinity. so I don't like that but it does seem parallax free out there at 1000 yards just you can turn the parallax adjustment and it does not seem to have any affect. but I can live with that.it really seems to be a nice scope. it is almost $1200.00 bucks and I guess you don't buy much for that price any more. and also the zero stop turret is not a NXS turret it just uses the push the turret down and tighten the set screws as the zero stop. but it works. all in all its a good scope but not a $1900.00 NXS.

I like the glass for the money. In perfect conditions to my eye its similar to the vortex pst line. However. When the sun starts to drop the viper starts lose its clarity. For instance i noticed when i tried to focus on wild flowers at around 120 yards. The pedals were fuzzy through the viper. The shv you could see much more detail. If it had a front focal plane reticle i would say the have a winner. As it stands its a toss up for me what its application is. If i dont need illumination or front focal plane then the glass wins it.
